LIFE STORIES: TERMS OF BUSINESS & PRIVACY NOTICE
BUSINESS PROCESS
Individuals interested in posting an autobiography, biography or obituary on this website are asked to submit the “Register Interest ” Form on the Home Page. They will then receive by email an invitation to either draft the post themselves, using the step-by-step guide we supply or, if they prefer, supply the text and images, ideally in a landscape orientated MS Word document set-out as they wish it to appear in their Post, and we will upload it for you. Once the contents have been mutually agreed it will go live on the internet.
The cost of these options is £10 if you post it yourself, or £50 if we do it for you. A £10 discount will be applied for the first 100 Posts on this new website.
BUSINESS TERMS
The Mission of the Life Stories website is to develop over time as the go-to source of information about the predecessors of future generations; to deliver this mission it will need ongoing management that ensures the website is maintained and kept online until its purpose is delivered by any future technology that supersedes it.
The current management of the Life Stories website is provided by Helicon Business Development Services Ltd, a company registered with Companies House; the Helicon company therefore undertakes to use its best endeavours to ensure that any future organisation that might take over this management role undertakes to pursue the same Mission.
Bearing in mind that an individual Life Story might potentially be viewed by very young people, the website management reserve the unfettered right to refuse to go live with a Post if it contains unsuitable content. Conversely, the website management is not responsible for the accuracy of Post content once it has been signed-off by its author who alone is responsible for the Post’s accuracy.
To ensure the clarity of the above, the sequence of events leading to a Post going live is as follow:
- The author of the proposed Post completes and submits the “Register Interest” form on the Home page
- The site management email back an invitation to author a draft post themselves, aided by the Step-by-Step guide which is also provided, or provide the text and images the author would like to be Posted on their behalf
- If the author is self-posting, the draft they submit for approval will be posted live by site management at its unfettered discretion; if for some reason changes are required these will be mutually agreed then posted live
- It site management is technically compiling the Post on the author’s behalf, using the text and images provided by the author, it will go live only once the author has approved the finished draft
